I might be adding to this post in the future but I figured I’d get a running list of companies that are making significant contributions toward this energy shift. In the end everything comes down to electricity. Whether it comes from Solar, Wind, Bio-thermal, Hydro or any other sustainable methods we have yet to discover, they all come down to creating electricity to power the vast array of technologies that have already been developed. That coupled with the dawn of wireless electricity… I’m getting ahead of myself.
Anyways, here’s a list of some of the innovative companies I’ve learned about. Please feel free to enlighten me with others!
Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. has produced a lithium-titanate battery that connects directly to the electrical grid and stands up to 5,000 cycles.
First Solar has been a leader in Solar Panel development recently. The market for these is only going to increase and hopefully new, more efficient, solar panels will be developed by many start up companies.
Renault-Nissan is going to help project Better Place in supplying them with the first car fleet equipped for their infrastructure. The only company to take a serious step toward electric car development to date.
