And what fun it was to watch.  Congratulations to Johnny Baker and the entire field of Kobuk 440 mushers.

I’m sure Mojofiti was glad to be a part of the 2010 mushing-in-general season.  Perhaps next year they can help even morein another area where it really counts

Taiga 300 Wrap Up

The 2010 Taiga 300 has come to an end, and seemingly without a hitch.  Congratulations to all eighteen mushers who attempted this year’s trail!
The top finishers were:

Wade Marrs Wins the Taiga 300

March 31st, 2010

Wade Marrs finished the race today at 4:37 p.m. Alaska time.  Congratulations to Wade and his team of ten dogs!  Karin Hendrickson followed just under an hour later, with eleven dogs.
These are the first and only two mushers into Wolverine Lodge at the moment Travis Beales, Zoya DeNure and Ava Lindner should be close behind.

Adventures at Taiga

The standings remain somewhat the same:  Wade, Travis, Karin H., Zoya
Jim Lanier is still 7thalthough from first place, all are within two hours of one another.
In mushing terms:  ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN!  Seems to be a mad dash to the finish!

Taiga Update

As of the moment, Wednesday morning, the Taiga standings have not been updated, although the race should be wrapping up at some point today.  What is known is that the trail is in excellent conditionpacked, with little overflow, and the temperatures have ranged from -10 to +20 F.  Very musher-friendly, indeed.
